The Warburton Millgrove Football &Netball Club are pleased to announce that Brendon Murphy has been appointed senior football coach for the 2019 season. It is great to see Brendon and his wife Nicole return to the Club having spent 3 years, including a premiership year, with Healesville.
Brendon has been developing his coaching skills in an assistant role with Healesville and last year successfully coached the AFL Yarra Ranges Under 16 inter league team. He has recently completed a variety of coaching courses with the Hawthorn Football club’s “Next Gen – Coaching Academy” with the aim to complete his Level 2 coaching course in 2019.
Brendon’s indicated that he is very excited to take on this role given the changes to the competition with the Burras remaining in first division. He recognises the potential of the young group with further potential for a number of new younger players coming hopefully coming through the junior system.
The electronic scoreboard will be installed over the next couple of weeks and the refurbished ground will be 100% for next season. Our netball facilities are second to none. All is set for a genuine push for finals next year.
Let’s make sure we all get behind Brendon.
